The décollatage refers to the neck and chest area. This area is often exposed to the sun and naturally has thinner skin than other areas of the body. Combined with the effects of gravity caused by the weight of breasts and side-sleeping, the décollatage can develop long vertical wrinkles, a crepey appearance and pigmentation issues. There are a variety of treatments indicated for this area, and often combination therapy produces the best results. To replace lost volume, hydrating dermal fillers are the best option. While they produce a quick result with virtually no down-time, they are not permanent. For longer lasting volume replacement, fat transfer using fat harvested from another area of the body is best. To improve skin texture and thickness, medical needling helps to stimulate collagen production. Several treatments spaced some weeks apart are required for medical needling. For age spots or other pigmentation issues, prescription skin care is indicated. This involves the regular application of a package of products using a bespoke protocol to increase cell turnover, rejuvenate the skin and develop collagen and elastin. Once the patient has been on prescription skin care for an appropriate length of time, a skin peel can accelerate the results and be the cherry on top.
