Facial Surgery
What is the Recovery like After Having a Face Lift?
A face lift can be a great cosmetic surgery procedure for delaying the typical signs of aging, such as wrinkles or facial sagging; however, it important to remember that it is an invasive cosmetic surgery and therefore subsequent recovery times can be lengthy – but exactly is recovery after having a facelift like?
The most obvious thing about face lift recovery is that it is relatively lengthy; this means that you shouldn’t expect to do any aerobic activity until 6 weeks after surgery; this isn’t because you are at any serious risk during this time, but you will have some swelling and bruises that will have to heal.
Any major swelling in the first 1-2 weeks after the procedure usually subsides quickly and it isn’t long before you can observe those cosmetic surgery results!
Throughout the recovery process, whilst it is important that you rest to your utmost, your should be aware of any issues that may arise; remember – you know your body better than anyone. If you notice any problems after the procedure, e.g. a high temperature or chest pains, then you should contact us at botonics as soon as possible – as we don’t consider our commitment to our clients over until well after their recovery period from the initial cosmetic surgery procedure.
Finally, whilst the recovery after a facelift cosmetic surgery might seem lengthy and sometimes even uncomfortable, just think of the possible enhancement and durability of the procedure!
