Liposuction Treatment
Traditional Liposuction vs Vaser Lipo Liposelection
The first ever liposuction procedure was performed over thirty years ago in 1974 by a doctor called Giorgio Fisher; and since its discovery in America in the 1980’s, liposuction has grown in demand each year. However, just like everything liposuction has evolved, and none more so than with the introduction of the Vaser Lipo Liposelection technology that we now use at botonics, as well as traditional liposuction procedures.
So what is the difference between the two, and how do you choose?
o Both liposuction and Vaser lipo procedures are able to remove high amounts of fat from the designated area, but neither are treatments for obesity.
o Vaser treatment is significantly cheaper, particularly if you are having multiple procedures performed.
o Vaser treatment is repeatable, unlike liposuction.
o Liposuction requires a general anesthetic in order for the procedure to be carried out, but Vaser only requires a local one.
o The recovery period from liposuction is slightly longer than with a Vaser treatment. Liposuction requires an overnight stay followed by 3-4 weeks recovery, as opposed to the 3-4 days of Vaser and no need for overnight stays.
o Both offer a permanent solution to ridding areas of unwanted fat, provided there isn’t a significant weight gain on the client’s behalf.
o Blood loss can be quite high in liposuction procedures and patients normally feel severe pain after the surgery, whereas Vaser lipo loses minimal blood and there is generally a mild pain post-surgery.
Whichever procedure you may be considering, we at botonics are here to help you receive the right treatment, and our qualified consultants will be able to ensure that you receive the most beneficial of treatments.
