Hyperhidrosis is a condition that is actually a lot more common that people who have hyperhidrosis actually believe. Every person that comes in to see me with hyperhidrosis always feels like they’re the only person on the planet with this condition when in actual fact there are so many people out there.

It is very debilitating, it does leave people feeling very embarrassed, very self conscious, usually at the absolute worst of times when they’re in meetings, or at work, under pressure and probably when they’re actually performing at their absolute best. And whereas with other people that stress wouldn’t show, with them it comes out with severe sweating.

There is a treatment solution for hyperhidrosis. That would be treatment with neurotoxin, some people refer to this as Botox. It’s injected superficially under the skin and it prevents the messages in the nerves telling your body to produce that amount of sweat.

So you can obtain complete dryness, but you can also sometimes have a tiny amount of sweating so it becomes very controllable and works brilliantly with deodorants and antiperspirants that are designed specifically for people that have hyperhidrosis. When you have a treatment for hyperhidrosis you can expect it to last anywhere between 3 and 6 months.

Areas you can treat for hyperhidrosis are the feet, under the arms, the palms of the hands. Hyperhidrosis does actually present itself on the face and it does present itself on the scalp. These are areas that can be treated too.

When having this procedure, there is a certain amount of discomfort that can come with it. Having it under the arms is very easy to anaesthetise and the discomfort is extremely minimal. However, when you’re having treatment to the hands and feet, you have to remember there are so many nerve endings in these areas, they are very hypersensitive areas. However, people do continue to have these areas treated on a regular basis so it improves their quality of life in the long term.

So if you’re looking for a treatment like this then contact botonics, give us a call and come in for a consultation and lets see if you are a person who can receive that treatment.
